![]() ![]() The cognitive culture at Microsoft should already know that forcing unasked-for ideas (Windows 8 UI, Office Ribbon, Skype permanency, etc. You can completely turn off Google Hangouts and Apple's iMessage. In my opinion, enabling the close or permanent disablement of an unasked-for service would not be a feature improvement - it'dīe normal. People who do not want these extra unsolicited services don'tĬare for this behavior, and it's only gotten worse as Microsoft has unnecessarily removed the option to even close Skype accounts. My question would not exist if Microsoft would stop revoking functionality I've had to close my Skype account multiple times because Microsoft just kept adding it back in as if I asked for it. In the Select a reason drop-down list, choose the reason you're closing the account. Make sure you are signed in to the Microsoft account you want to close and select Next. ![]() You may be prompted to sign in or verify your password. That will make it harder for people to find you and wonder why your ignoring them if they send you a message. You can close your Microsoft account by following these steps: Go to our Microsoft account closure page. The only suggestion I could make would be to remove all your personal information from the skype profile, or at least as much as you can. This is something we are discussing with the Microsoft Account team for a possible feature improvement later in the year.
